Am I the only one that carries about five lip balms with her at all times? Gosh, I hope not!
I don’t exactly know what the reason is behind carrying that many lip balms with me, I guess you can say that I like variety ;) . Some of my favorites include good, old Carmex (only the best lip product, like, everrrr), EOS lip balm in Sweet Mint, Chanel Rouge Coco Hydrating Conditioning Lip Balm (also great to use at night) and recently reviewed Dior Addict Lip Glow Color Reviver Balm.
I also carry a creamy concealer with me, just in case I need to touch up my makeup throughout the day: “Boi-ing” concealer by Benefit Cosmetics. I also love this beautiful, shimmery mineral eyeshadow by Bare Minerals in “Queen Phylis”. It’s such a great and multitasking product, I like to dab some in the inner corners of my eyes to brighten them up, use it as a brow bone highlight or as a highlighter for my cheeks, cupid’s bow, etc. It’s products like this one that can easily transform my look from an everyday-mascara-only look to a pretty, natural and glow-y one.
Some of my other essentials are a hand lotion; EOS Berry Blossom hand lotion; a nail file (because there is nothing more annoying than breaking your nail and not having a file around); a nail polish that I wear at the moment, just in case my mani chips (is this a bit extreme?) still obsessed with “Partner in Crime” by Essie; Victoria’s Secret small perfume spray in my favorite scent “Amber Romance”-gorgeous scent for Autumn; another purse-sized perfume in my “signature” scent “L’eau d’Issey” by Issey Miyake; countless lip products which usually change up depending on my makeup (my current favorites are “Velvet Teddy” by MAC, NYX soft matte lip cream in “Milan“ and Nars lip gloss in “Turkish Delight”).
Being an oily girl I also cannot forget about powder. My all-time favorite is Pro-Finish powder foundation by Make Up For Ever-it’s a true miracle worker. For some reason I’m not a big fan of blotting papers, they just never seem to work for me and sometimes even give my skin a rash. Because I don’t usually like to use the sponge that comes with the powder, I also always carry a powder/blush brush with me. I got this Retractable Kabuki Brush by Eco Tools few weeks ago and it’s amazing. Works beautifully with powders, blushes, bronzers, you name it. One cool thing about it is that it has a cap, which keeps it nice and clean in my bag.
Can you believe that all of this fits into my tiny Sephora cosmetic bag? What are some of your beauty essentials? Any multi-tasking products worth recommending?

October 14, 2014 at 4:31 pmAhh me too! I think that I only “finished” about two lip balms in my lifetime. Wonder whatever happens to them, seems that they just disappear haha ;)

The lidded brush is a great idea, and I totally get where you’re coming from with the powder! Problems of a girl will oily skin! :)

October 13, 2014 at 5:48 amI dread to think how many lip balms are lingering at the bottom of my handbag – I feel like some sort of lipsalve hoarder though glad I’m not alone with this disorder! Maybe the key is buying less? Pffft, like that’s going to happen :D Great post & LOVE the retractable Kabuki… it’s officially on my wish list!!

October 13, 2014 at 11:51 amI was so made up when I saw you’d done a “what’s in my bag” Paula ;) I really admire your knowledge and expertise when it comes to all things beauty and make-up and there you go claiming the crown as Make Up Queen once more ;)
I really love the look of your IOS lip balm, and sweet mint sounds heavenly! You have some real gems of lip products, I remember reading your review of Dior Addict Lip Glow and thinking it sounded outta this world ;) Benefit’s “Boi-ing” (Benefit have the best names, don’t they?) sounds like a fab concealer, the packaging is so pretty as well. And I always look at the case and feel like I’m bouncing, weird I know, haha :P “Amber Romance” just sounds like a stunner of scent!
Breathtakingly beautiful photography as always my love, you’ve showcased these products so gorgeously and the presentation is so magical and on-point! A make-up bag fit for a queen! <3

October 14, 2014 at 4:44 pmAww thanks so much Love! I’m not usually a fan of mint-flavored products, but this one is so delicate and subtle, I love it! Benefit really does have really cool names for their products :D. “Amber Romance” was my first fragrance by VS and I used it all the time when Mark and I started dating so it will always remind me of those times, it just brings such a nostalgic feeling to me whenever I use it :)

October 13, 2014 at 12:29 pmI always carry a silly amount of lip balms with me, but sometimes you want something with a little bit colour and sometimes you want just a balm to moisturise :) I also do the nail thing. If they are painted, the vanish comes with me, it its falsies, I carry some spare nails and glue just in case. I’m a little bit OCD when it comes to my nails haha.
You are the beauty queen Paula, every product you mention I want to try, in the hope that my skin will look as bright and beautiful as yours. I couldn’t live without my Bobby Brown shimmer block and it comes with me everywhere – I’ve lost to many as a result – just you can use it for so much.
Another awesome post :)

October 14, 2014 at 4:45 pmThank you so much Gems, you’re so sweet!
Haha your nails really are always on point! I’m the same way though, I can have messy hair and no makeup on, but my nails always have to look as close to flawless as possible hehe :D

October 14, 2014 at 4:30 pmHahaha :D :D I’m the same way, I have way too many!
Ahh that brush really is soft, feels amazing on the skin and does an amazing job at blending the product evenly!
