I can’t help but daydream about Spring already. Using my favorite Spring fragrance never fails to put a smile on my face and makes me feel like warm weather is just around the corner. Fresh Beauty’s Cannabis Santal is one of those fragrances, with wild strawberry, rose and vanilla musk. I have a lot of love for unisex scents- especially ones that are such a good mix of musky and fruity notes, like this one. Jo Malone’s Peony & Blush Suede is another current favorite that I can’t seem to get enough of, as is AnOther 13 by Lel Labo. AnOther 13 has woody ambery, moss and musk notes and it’s one of the most beautiful scents I’ve ever used. I really do wish that the scent was more lasting though. Before I got the bottle, I went through many, many samples and for some reason, those were a lot more long-lasting. It’s an absolutely gorgeous and unique scent, unlike anything else I’ve ever used, but I do wish that it lasted throughout […]

Why make me fall in love with a product, just to take it away from me after only three short years we’ve had together? Is it really too much to ask for a little heads-up? I mean, just send me an email saying “you buy this a lot, better stock up!” no? Pretty sure I’m not the only one who could use such service, so you know, just putting it out into the Universe, hoping it will listen. The victim, this time, was Guerlain’s Météorites Baby Glow Light-Revealing Foundation. Although no, I probably should be considered to be the victim here, ya know? Kidding, of course. (I think) Favorite fragrance this fall: Molton Brown’s Flora Luminare*, part of their Eau de Parfum Collective. It’s a bit of an unusual fragrance to be a favorite for me since I don’t gravitate toward floral fragrances too often. This one, however, has earthy base notes of musk, sandalwood, and cedarwood, all of which I love. With top notes being mandarin + bitter almond and softening into intense neroli, jasmine, and rose absolute. It comes in a […]

If you’ve been reading TT for a while then you might recall that I usually don’t like to indulge in any beauty “treatments.” Getting pedicure is a torture for me- I’d rather do it myself. Cutting my hair is about the only thing I leave to the professional. I mean, that’s not for a lack of trying though, I did use to cut my own hair- I thank God I came to my senses, that’s all I’m going to say. I don’t really know what it is, but I just don’t like people touching me. Not sure if it’s the germaphobe in me, or if I’m just strange. I don’t care if it takes me 3 hours longer- I’d still rather do my own nails, brows, etc. Okay, so I did get my brows threaded on a regular basis, but then the only person I’d let touch my eyebrows moved out of state and I haven’t trusted anyone else since then. Back to the hydrafacial. To be quite honest, I haven’t really heard […]

I’ve never been too crazy about sweet and floral fragrances- at least as far as perfume goes. Woody, kind of leaning towards the masculine side or, warm and spicy and what I once referred used to refer as “grandma perfume” is what I usually reach for. That doesn’t mean that I don’t sometimes reach for those more delicate scents, although there was only one that I actually loved enough to repurchase a few times- Chanel’s Chance Eau Tendre EDT. Yes, it’s sweet, but also fresh and crisp. The only thing that I didn’t love was that it doesn’t last on me. As in, it’s literally completely undetectable after about 5 minutes. Of course, being an EDT you do expect it to be much lighter, but unlike other EDT sprays I used, Chance Eau Tendre seemed extremely delicate. A few weeks ago I picked up the new Eau de Parfum and immediately fell in love. The EDP is just a little bit more intense, with floral and fruity notes and hints of cedarwood, musk, and amber. Chanel call it an “enhanced interpretation” of Chance Eau […]

Back in September, I wrote an entire post dedicated to Molton Brown’s Jasmine & Sun Rose fragrance collection. There’s just something about it that keeps me coming back- and, admittedly, I can be a little picky when it comes to fragrance. I love scents that aren’t overly feminine and Jasmine and Sun Rose is a perfect combo of fruity and flowery with a musk base. The interesting thing about this scent is that it seems to be both very unique, but also very nostalgic to me, although I can’t quite think of what it reminds me of. I love wearing it during the day, when wearing perfume seems to be a bit much sometimes. Covergirl Exhibitionist Mascara*-this mascara is said to be a dupe for Too Faced Better Than Sex, and I have to say that they’re both pretty similar. It adds length and fullness without clumping or flaking throughout the day. I think I actually prefer the Exhibitionist brush over the Better Than Sex– even though they’re very similar, the Too Faced mascara always seems to collect way too much product and I always end up […]
