It’s no secret that I’m obsessed with smoothies. Especially ones that are healthy, yet taste like dessert.
Whenever I don’t know what to have for breakfast or can’t decide what to snack on, I always go for a smoothie. Funny thing is, I pretty much always end up throwing different ingredients together so that my smoothies are different every single time.
Regardless of what kind of ingredients I put in my blender, I always use frozen bananas and almond milk or coconut water as my “base”. Today’s smoothie is no different. I also added some natural peanut butter- one that contains no hydrogenated oils, sugar, salt, soy protein, corn syrup and stabilizers- and some fresh blueberries for that true PB&J flavor as well as flaxseed meal for fiber and essential fatty acids.
Peanut Butter & Jelly Smoothie (2 servings)
2 frozen bananas
handful of ice cubes
unsweetened almond milk
2 TBS natural peanut butter
2 cups fresh or frozen blueberries
2 tsp flaxseed meal
Place all ingredients in a blender and mix until well-combined. Use as much or as little milk as you’d like- less for creamier and thicker smoothie.
What are some of your favorite combos when it comes to smoothies?

January 19, 2016 at 11:49 pmWow- this looks amazing! Usually, I’m one who sticks to PB&J exclusively on sandwiches, but this actually looks quite delicious! I’m always trying to find good, healthy ways to eat protein in the morning without eating scrambled eggs every single day, so this is definitely something I’ll have to make sometime! You always have the most creative, delicious recipes, and I enjoy them so much! :)

January 29, 2016 at 10:13 amI thought that maybe I should make a smoothie this morning, and then I remembered this recipe that you posted! I just made this for breakfast this morning and it’s honestly SO GOOD. I love the little taste of peanut butter with the berries and it adds protein that you usually wouldn’t get much of in smoothies! I think I’ll have to make this smoothie every morning now! :)
