Lovin’ Lately

The other day I gave away every single loose powder in my collection, to my sister. My skin being as dry as it is now, I pretty much don’t have the need for them at the moment.

Except for one, of course.

I first used Hourglass Ambient Lighting Palette in Diffused Light when I got one of their LE holiday palettes. It was the first (and only, now that I think about it) powder to actually hit the pan- I literally used the very last bit of that powder. Since then, it’s been a favorite. Diffused Light is a soft, pale yellow that I usually use all over (or just under my eyes). Hourglass powders are pretty amazing, I think pretty much everyone who tried them would agree. This one, is sort of like a Snapchat filter (you know the one), but in real life. No, it won’t make your nose slimmer, but it will make your skin look beautiful. This is the only powder that I reach for these days and I just love how natural it looks, while at the same time adding that airbrushed glow to the skin.

Also loving: Marc Jacobs LE O!Mega Bronzer Coconut Perfect Tan which I already talked about in this post.

Skincare-wise, I re-discovered a cleanser that I used to use all the time: Philosophy’s Purity Made Simple. Many years ago I had such a huge skincare crush on Philosophy products, I’d use their products exclusively, and wouldn’t let anything else touch my face. I can’t say that that’s something I’d be up to doing these days, but I did pick up a bottle of Purity couple of weeks ago and yes- it’s just as good as I remember it. If you’re on the lookout for something that isn’t drying or harsh on your skin, you’d love this one.

Still loving Paula’s Choice RESIST Omega + Complex* and I use it religiously. It feels incredibly smooth and really softens the skin- I already talked about it in detail in this post. As I mentioned in that post, the thing I love most about this serum is that it *plumps* my skin. I use it both day and night and follow-up with a moisturizer.

And, because face mists are my favorite thing ever, I picked up a few backup sprays by Pearlessence and while I love both Coconut and Cucumber, Rose is probably my favorite. I always get asked about where I find these and I usually get them at Marshalls or TJ Maxx.

When it comes to hair volumizing products, it’s always been a huge *hit or miss* for me. Phytovolume Actif Volumizing Spray* is one of those products that just works- and it does so without being sticky, smelling weird or leaving residue on my hair. This is said to be a heat-activated product that works as you blow-out your hair, but I still get a ton of volume after spraying this on my damp hair, even when I just air-dry my hair.

Two lip products I’m loving are fairly new: MUFE Ultra HD Lip Booster and Fresh Sugar Lip Treatment Perfecting Wand.* I deal with extremely dry lips and I’m not a huge fan of the treatment that my derm prescribed, so I’m always on the lookout for something nourishing (so far nothing beats Lano). The Ultra HD Lip Booster feels so incredibly comfortable and brings such relief to dry lips- and it adds a natural tint (also comes in a clear version). My only wish would be that the hydration lasted a bit longer, but it’s a great product to reach for when you want to stay away from matte lipstick or anything else that can be a little drying.

The Lip Treatment Perfecting Wand* is a fantastic alternative to a lip scrub. First of all, it’s a no-mess process. The treatment comes with a silicone-like applicator that buffs and exfoliates lips, while the treatment itself nourishes and softens. There’s no messy cleanup, and no need to follow up with a lip balm.

I am still loving the Nail Renewal System from Dr. Dana and use it all the time (see the before/after). The new Lips & Tips* lip and nail duo comes with the same nail + cuticle treatment as the Renewal System on one side, and a lipgloss infused with hyaluronic acid on the other. This duo is so perfect because you can treat your nails, at the same time you re-apply your lipgloss. Lips & Tips is one of those products that I always carry in my bag. I probably do it more for the nail treatment, because it’s just so good!

What are some products that you’re loving right now?
