When I bought the Crème Abricot by Dior, it was by a total accident. Another product by Dior, Crème de Rose lip balm, is one of the best lip balms that I’ve used and they both happen to have identical packaging. Being the genius that I am, instead of grabbing the balm, I grabbed the nail cream.
You can imagine the look on my face when I opened the container. I was so mad at myself and originally thought of returning it ($26 for a tiny cuticle and nail cream was a bit pricey), but after it sat on my nightstand for a few weeks I came into a conclusion that I probably won’t return it, might as well use it, right? :) So I used it a few times and quickly fell in love with it. Crème Abricot by Dior was created in 1963 and promises to encourage nail growth, provide strength and nourish cuticles. Its formula takes some time getting used to. It’s thick and very, very sticky and it seems like it takes forever to absorb, but it does wonders for dry and stubborn cuticles. Another plus is that a little dab goes a long, long way.
Crème Abricot is highly moisturizing, but because it’s so sticky and greasy, I only use it at night. This thing takes about 20 minutes to absorb, no joke. I like to massage it into my cuticles, and if I’m not wearing any polish I massage it into my nails too. After an overnight treatment with this cream, my nails always feel a bit stronger and my cuticles are much, much softer. This cream works great even on the very rough, dry and stubborn cuticles. Now for the smell… It’s very sweet and fruity…. sort of peach-y. In fact, the smell is so fruity that it almost stinks (I almost want to say that it smells like a rotten peach…). That, I now realize, doesn’t make much sense, but it’s the only way I’d describe it. At first I couldn’t stand it, but I can honestly say that it grew on me and I now think that it’s quite pleasant. Or as pleasant as the smell of rotten peach can get :) (no, really, it did stink at first, but when I say that I grew to like it, I really mean that, it’s not that bad).
While at first I wasn’t sure about it, I think that Crème Abricot Fortifying Cream might be a keeper. With such a rich formula, I think that it will work amazing especially during those cold, winter months (that’s when my cuticles get really, really dry).
Don’t forget to follow me on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram to see what I’m up to on daily basis.

September 1, 2014 at 7:52 pmWonderful post! Lovely pics too, as always! Could you do a photography taking tips guide? Any who, lovely review. I usually use vitamin-E oil or almond oil and cuticle crème, but I might need to splurge on this once in a while! :P

September 2, 2014 at 10:17 amCrème Abricot sounds like the best example of silver lining buying in the universe haha ;) What a wonderful error Paula :D So pleased it turned out to be a good thing that you bought it instead of the Rose lip balm; besides if they have identical packaging then that just makes things extra confusing! :/
That’s totally something I would have done too! Dior products are always so dreamy, and this sounds like no exception. The longevity sounds so promising, as does the strengthening, moisturising and softening factors. I like the idea of using it as a night time treatment, and it sounds like a blissful winter buy :D Rotten peach actually sounds like such a rare smell that that to me makes the product sound even more intriguing hehe XD Such a lovely review Paula, you have so many divine Dior products and Crème Abricot sounds like one of the dreamiest, for sure <3
