What’s In My Makeup Bag: September

FINALLY, the wait is over! I seriously could not wait for the sweater weather to get here. The weather during this past couple of weeks has been ridiculously warm for this time of year.

The first thing that usually changes in my makeup bag once Fall starts is lipstick. I know, how typical.

Charlotte Tilbury’s Pillow Talk is my go-to lipstick and one those colors that just goes with everything and works with everything. I’ve also been loving Bond Girl, which is a little deeper, berry yet natural-looking shade.I love that these are matte, yet incredibly comfortable. NYX’s Luv Out Loud Liquid Lipsticks* have such an amazing and long-lasting formula. I’ve always loved their lip products, and these are no exception. Brilliant* is my favorite at the moment- sort of cool red-ish brown that actually looks a bit on the gray side on me. It’s one of those lip colors that you can wear without foundation or any eye makeup and it just makes you look so put-together as it takes attention away from everything else. Looks beautiful with no-mascara look so going “edgy” is super easy with this one.

Glossier’s Lip Gloss is an all-time favorite and perfect for those minimal or no-makeup days. BareMinerals 24 Karat* gloss is also out-of-this-world. It’s slightly plumping and its beauty is really difficult to capture on camera. Of course, a bunch of lip balms always find their way to my makeup bag- this month I mostly reached for Lanolips (on a 5th tube, this stuff is gold) and Givenchy Le Rouge Perfecto in Perfect Pink*.

Some new products this month also included BareMinerals Brow Master Brow Gel in Universal Taupe*. I love the formula and the brush that comes with this set- the formula is pretty long-lasting. The only issue I have is that I’m not sure how universal the shade is, although it does work nicely for me, it might be a bit too red-ish for others (I like to run a spoolie dipped in a translucent powder through my brows to make them look a bit more natural, also helps with brow products that get oxidized during the day).

Yet again, I’ve been super bored with my base, mainly because I’ve had a lot of makeup-free days this past month and, I’m hard to please in the foundation department these days. I thought that having oily skin was a struggle, but us dry gals don’t have it much easier, I must say. IT Cosmetics Bye Bye Redness Correcting Cream I already talked about and it’s nice for a lightweight but fuller coverage. Chanel Aqua Vitalumière is one of the few foundations that work really well with my skin. Powders: of course, I can’t live without my Diffused Light powder from Hourglass– it’s like Photoshop in real life. AND I’ve also been reaching for IT Cosmetics CC + Airbrush Perfecting Powder in Fair*. It has nice coverage, but is tricky to use and tends to settle into lines and small imperfections (like my rolling acne scars) so I’m still trying to make up my mind about this one.

Urban Decay’s Troublemaker* and Givenchy’s Noir Couture* mascaras are ones I’ve been reaching for all the time and love them both. I doubt, however, that I’ll ever love any mascara more than I do Maybelline’s Lash Sensational, Dior’s Diorshow Iconic Overcurl and Chanel’s Chanel’s Volume de Chanel.

NYX Brilliant, Bond Girl, Pillowtalk, Glossier Lip Glos, BareMinerals 24 Karat, Bare Minerals Brow Master Brow Power.

What’s in your makeup bag at the moment? Excited for the sweater weather?
