Wellness + Self-Care Gift Ideas

Wellness and Self-Care Gift Ideas 2018

So… what do you get that one person in your life who seems to already have everything they need? Well, I say that you can never go wrong with a gift that can boost or encourage more health and happiness in the other person’s life.

Sadly, these aren’t things that you can simply put in a box. Creating a little wellness/self-care box for someone you love, however, can serve as a little self-preservation reminder. It’s all about encouraging someone you love to practice some self-care, to love and look after themselves.

When creating self-care boxes, I always like to focus on things that the other person enjoys doing most, or things that they don’t get to do for themselves too often. Sometimes it’s gifting a fun experience, a class or a membership for something they’ve been wanting to try for a very long time. Other times it’s about picking out a few things and tools that will inspire the other person to take some time out and focus on their wellbeing.

SLEEP + REST

Wouldn’t it be amazing if you could simply gift someone some rest or sleep? I’d probably be the first to sign up for that. Well, unfortunately, that’s not possible. The good news is that there are things that can make getting some rest and enough sleep a little easier.

This Works Deep Sleep Pillow Spray – a beautiful blend of lavender, vetiver, and chamomile works together to help reduce anxiety and improve quality of sleep.

Sleep Silk Eye Mask– sleep eye mask made out of 100% pure grade silk, long strand pure mulberry silk that’s very gentle both on skin and hair. Blocks out the light so you can spend more time sleeping and less time tossing + turning and fall asleep faster.

Sleep Therapy Bluetooth Speaker– light and sound therapy speaker that helps calm the mind, lower the heart rate and prep the body for sleep.

FOR THE BODY

During winter, there’s nothing else that can help deal with aches and pains better than a warm bath. Massage tools are also awesome to throw in your self-care kit/gift basket and they start at just a few bucks. You can pick between a reflex foot massager, scalp massage tool, massage roller, facial massager, or even a facial sonic massage tool.

C.O. BIGELOW Cold & Flu Soak– this is my own winter must-have that I love including in little self-care boxes I make as gifts. It’s an herbal blend of eucalyptus, peppermint, willow bark, echinacea, and ginger. This bath soak helps clear up congested nasal passages, it helps with body aches and gives that overall soothing bath experience.

Herbivore Botanicals x Goldirocks Rose Quartz Ritual Set– a set of a beautiful rose illuminating body oil and a Rose Quartz gemstone to use together as a daily self-care ritual.

Harper + Ari Exfoliating Sugar Cubes– these exfoliating cubes come in a few different scents and can be used both in the shower and bath. They’re amazing for gentle exfoliation while also hydrating the skin. I’ve used Rosé version of these and I swear that it’s one of the most beautiful and unique scents I’ve ever experienced- very delicate, soft and uplifting.

Herbivore Botanicals Coconut Milk Bath Soak– deeply hydrating coconut milk soak that not only smells amazing but also leaves the skin feeling silky smooth.

Herbivore Botanicals Coco Rose Body Polish– another gentle exfoliating treatment with hydrating coconut oil. A little goes a very long way and it’s a perfect product for a little pamper.

FOR THE MIND + SOUL

Often, probably more often than we realize, people find themselves feeling lost, having to start all over again, or they’re just going through a difficult change. Occasionally, especially at the end of the year, we also need a little help organizing our goals, thoughts, plans. Journals, planners and other mindfulness-inspiring tools can be very helpful in caring for the mind and soul.

An Inspired Life Journal– a perfect gift for anyone who loves pretty journals- this one is one of the most beautiful hard-cover journals I use, it’s full of beautiful, inspiring quotes and journal prompts for self-discovery, guidance, and reflection.

52 Lists for Happiness– this is another personal favorite for me. It’s a weekly journal for self-expression that also inspires taking action for a happier life.

Daily Planner Journal– one of the things to love about this beautiful planner is that you can fill in custom dates and tailor each page to your schedule. It gives plenty of space to write, note and doodle. It’s versatile and highly customizable so it can be used for school, work, and everything in between.

The Five-Minute Journal– this particular journal uses the science of positive psychology to inspire positive change in your life by shifting your focus to positive things and aspects of your life. It encourages simple and quick self-care and mental-wellbeing daily practice that only takes five minutes.

Creating a little wellness/self-care gift box is a fun gift idea for those people in our lives who seem to “have everything” or are difficult to shop for. We all have that one friend or family member who deals with a lot of stress, works a lot, or spends most of their time taking care of others. To make them feel extra special you can also add a few photos to remind them about some fun memories you’ve shared and/or a handwritten note. We’re not always good at expressing our feelings or gratitude towards other people. We also don’t don’t always take the time to let the other person know just how much we appreciate them- writing it down in a little note or a letter might be easier.
