Lovin’ Lately

The following content contains referral links and or PR/Gifted products (*). Read my disclosure policy for more info. I know that we’re just now getting that true, winter weather. I can’t help but daydream about Spring already. Using my favorite Spring fragrance never fails to put a smile on my face and makes me feel like warm weather is just around the corner. Fresh Beauty’s Cannabis Santal is one of those fragrances, with wild strawberry, rose and vanilla musk. I have a lot of love for unisex scents- especially ones that are such a good mix of musky and fruity notes, like this one.  Jo Malone’s Peony & Blush Suede is another current favorite that I can’t seem to get enough of, as is AnOther 13 by Lel Labo. AnOther 13 has woody ambery, moss and musk notes and it’s one of the most beautiful scents I’ve ever used. I really do wish that the scent was more lasting though. Before I got the bottle, I went through many, many samples and for some reason, those were a lot more long-lasting. It’s an absolutely gorgeous and unique scent, unlike anything else I’ve ever used, but I do wish that it lasted throughout […]

Make it Glow: How to Revive Dull Skin

What is the first thing you do when you notice your skin looking dull and tired? Clean up your diet? Start drinking more water? Add a new product to your routine? Treat yourself to a facial? Whenever my skin looks a bit dull and, well, sad- it’s pretty much always due to lack of sleep and not drinking enough water. If I travel, change up my routine or don’t manage my stress well, when I’m very busy- it immediately shows on my skin. During those busy or stressful periods in life, we often forget to include those little self-care rituals to our routine. This includes things like staying hydrated, keeping a healthy diet and getting enough sleep. All of those things are important, not just for your overall wellbeing, but also for your skin. No need to panic though, as there are quite a few products that can help you get that glow and revive dull skin. MAKE IT GLOW: HOW TO REVIVE DULL SKIN Whether I’m wearing makeup or not, my skin tends to feel quite dehydrated and dry during the day. One of the best and easiest way to soothe it is with a face mist. I’ve said […]

It’s All in the Eyes- Concealers, Creams + Gels to Love

The early bird might get the worm, but it could also use some concealer. Eyes are the window to the soul, but it’s also where the first signs of lack of sleep, poor hydration, exhaustion, and aging tend to show. If you’ve been reading my blog for a while now, you may recall that I had the worst luck with finding an eye cream that would work for me. My skin can be quite picky and my under eye area loves thick, intense and almost greasy eye creams. For a while there, I gave up on eye creams completely because so many of them irritated my both my skin and eyes. I noticed that this was especially common with anti-aging eye creams. I don’t expect much from my eye cream and eye gel products, simply because I don’t have much to complain about when it comes to my under eyes. No wrinkles or dark circles but I have to say that the skin under my eyes isn’t as smooth and supple as it used to be. On occasions when I need something soothing or de-puffing, I go in with my hydrogels. When I need to brighten, illuminate or cover, I do […]

Skincare: The Old + The New and Fab

The following content includes referral links and/or PR/Gifted products (*). Read my disclosure policy for more info. There was The Good, The Bad and The Fab, now it’s time for The Old + The New and Fab. I can’t think of any “bad” or horrible skincare products I’ve tried in recent months. Considering how much I love trying and testing “all things beauty” I think that’s pretty good. And, actually a little surprising to me, if I’m being honest. I do have to say that I’m definitely more mindful these days and don’t always feel the need to immediately buy new products, the minute they’re released. This probably helps reduce my chances of using something I won’t like. Nearly three years passed since I went on the “Beauty Diet” and I’m really happy that I’m still sticking to those rules. Most of the time, anyway. The GlamGlow Supermud Clearing Treatment is one of those old products that recently found its way back to me. I’ve been using it on and off probably since around 2014. The brand definitely makes quite a few bold claims  (they all kinda do though, no?) saying that the product will literally “suck your pores clean.” Well, […]

Beauty Supplements: Getting That Glow From the Inside Out

Beauty Supplements: Getting that Glow From the Inside Out The following content includes referral links and/or PR samples/gifted products (*). Read my disclosure policy for more info. A good skincare routine, religious use of sunscreen, eating well and staying hydrated. All this will go a long way if you’re after that glowing, healthy complexion. Is it always enough? Nope. Not always. Sometimes, like when dealing with stubborn acne, you also have to add a prescription treatment or certain beauty supplements to the mix. The truth is that most of us probably don’t actually have the need for supplements. If you’re already getting everything you need from your diet, then taking them might make no difference at all. If, however, you are under a lot of stress, have a hectic schedule, your diet isn’t well-balanced or you take certain medications, it’s a different story. All these factors can also affect your skin. That kind of happens to be my story at the moment. As I’m slowly getting back to my healthy lifestyle and a plant-based diet, I reach for a little help from beauty supplements. The easiest way to get in a daily dose of that good, healthy stuff, is in my smoothies. […]
