I’ve been feeling under the weather for the last couple of days and haven’t planned any posts for you guys, so I thought that it would be cool to have a chit-chat coffee-date type of post today.
Speaking of coffee, that’s not exactly what I’m sipping on. As soon as the weather gets nice and cold, I always like to treat myself to Trader Joe’s Salted Caramel Chai. This tastes absolutely divine, ain’t nothing better than this on a nice, cozy evening. Trust me.
I don’t really like sitting around, doing nothing, even if I don’t feel good, but I do have to say that yesterday was kind of awesome. I spent an entire day going through my old cookbooks, watching Food Network and sipping on some tea. In the evening we put the fire place on, watched a movie and ordered some takeout (I had THE most amazing grilled eggplant & roasted pepper panini, never had anything that good from a pizza place before) and just relaxed for the rest of the day. Today I woke up feeling much better so we did some work outside the house (leaves…LEAVES EVERYWHERE!!) and got some shopping done.
I really wanted to stop by Home Goods, because they always have so many beautiful pillows, throws, dishes, blankets, etc. I might have mentioned this before, but our local Home Goods has so much stuff, it’s really overwhelming. I wanted to look for some Christmas decorations, but they had so many beautiful things that my head started spinning and I ended up only getting a few candles, a new bed for Blu and an acrylic lipstick stand. I already have a few of these (but much smaller) and I’m running out of space to store all my lipsticks so I bought this big one. It stores up to 24 lipsticks and it was only $6.99 (original price being around $12.00).
I also stopped by TJ Maxx, because.. well it’s right next to Home Goods ;) . I immediately went to their cosmetic section and saw that they had A LOT of Estee Lauder products, unfortunately they didn’t have the eye cream that I’m after. I did find another eye product though, one that I wanted to try out for a while now: GLAMGLOW Brightmud Eye Treatment. I was so excited when I saw it, especially because I’ve heard mixed reviews, and wasn’t sure if I was willing to spend $70.00 on something that might work. I found it on the clearance section for 29 bucks (!!) but I did notice that it had some tape around it and was packed in a locked box, so I thought that it must have been a curious/mischievous customer that opened it. I decided to get it anyway, but did ask the girl at a checkout if it was possible that there was something missing inside (there are 12, small individually packed treatments). She assured me that nothing was missing and that if it was, it wouldn’t be put back on the shelf.
Sure enough, I get home and notice that there are two treatments missing (seriously, who does that?? Ughh). I thought about going back and returning it, but I think that it must have been placed on a clearance for a reason (previous price was $39.00 with original price being $69.00) so I thought that it’s still much cheaper than buying it at Sephora for $69.00. Can’t wait to see how this works.
I almost bought a very similar Argan body oil few days a go for 40 bucks, so you can imagine how happy I was when I found this at TJ Maxx for only $14.99. I already patch-tested this on my hand and it feels so smooth and silky with a slight, gorgeous shimmer. I love using products like this one during cold weather months, it always feels like I’m brining some of that summer glow back to my skin.
With the holidays approaching, and Thanksgiving being in a couple of days, I already raided my closet in search for those holiday outfits. I think that from now on I should check my closet before going shopping because I did find few dresses (still with tags) that have been sitting in my closet, waiting for me to go back to my skinny-me days haha! Turns out a lot of them fit me very nicely now, so it’s just like buying new clothes.
I also really want to try a different hairstyle this year for the holidays. I usually always run late (anyone else wraps their gifts right before leaving to see your family?) and just put my hair in a bun or go for soft curls and let my hair down. I’ve been looking for some inspiration for up-dos and half-dos on Pinterest and really like these:
This is really, really pretty and simple, plus, how gorge is her hair color?

I actually tried something similar once, and loved the way it looked on me, although it did get kinda messy towards the end of the day.
Love the way this looks, but don’t know if I’d have enough patience to try it out ;) .
Mr. Blu enjoying his new bed. Seriously, this thing is so cozy, I want to sleep in it.
Hope you all had an amazing weekend! This coming week is a short one for us, US folks, so let’s not complain about tomorrow being a Monday too much ;) .

November 23, 2014 at 11:39 pmAh, sorry you weren’t feeling well! That salted caramel chai sounds delicious. I need to get some of that. I also need a lipstick holder. I don’t know why I don’t have one, but all of my lipsticks just roll around in my vanity. Oooh I love trying new hairstyles!! I’d love to know which one you end up choosing :)

November 24, 2014 at 12:13 pmI hope you feel better, Paula!
I do love me some Chai tea latte, so I totally believe you that this is the best drink ever! hehe!
Oh, it seems like a great day, and Panini’s are so yummy, although an eggplant one sounds interesting, I would have never have thought of it! Wonderful!
The hairstyles are lovely and I don’t like it when customers ruin the product – good deal, nonetheless!
Hope you have a super fun festive weekend, too!! <3

November 24, 2014 at 9:08 pmI just looked at your lovely mug and wondered what the P was for… well I had my highlights re-done today so I guess what they say about blondes is right in my case haha, how stupid am I :P Such a gorgeous, gorgeous post love. Such a nice idea about a “Sunday coffee date”. I’m so glad you’re feeling better now, these seasonal times sure don’t help when you’re feeling under the weather. <3
It's so great you had a more chilled out day over the weekend. You deserve it and a bit of kicking back relaxing never did hurt nobody ;) That eggplant & roasted pepper panini sounds absolutely divine. I love eggplant (or aubergine as we call it haha) And boy your lipstick collections looks good Paula. Loving it and the gorgeous new stand you bought for them! GLAMGLOW looks and sounds completely amazing, such a shame about the two treatments missing though :( I keep meaning to buy a lovely body shimmer too, I'm not going to even try and embarrass myself by attempting fake tan but I'd love something that adds a bit of glimmer to my Dracula-esque complexion. And my gosh you would suit any of those pretty hairstyles so well Paula. Loving your hair-spo! ;)
Serious aws for Mr Blu, what a cute pie he is <3

November 25, 2014 at 11:46 amHahahaha oh my God!! Girl you crack me up hahah :D :D :D :D So funny, don’t worry I have those moments too! LOL
I love “aubergine” it sounds so fancy and posh! Eggplant sounds just like “meh” haha :) Yes, it was a shame, but I still got to try out the product for much cheaper. I did have a feeling that there was something missing, but ehh what are you gonna do! I’m sure you wouldn’t embarrass yourself, with your pretty face and gorgeous hair you can rock anything, even a fake tan. This oil is actually very nice, it does a bit of a color but it doesn’t look ridiculously orange, just sort if accentuates my natural skin tone, which I gotta say is nice.
He is a cutie pie isn’t he? <3
