Learn how to integrate fruit into flower arrangements to fill them in effortless and inexpensively while adding interest!
I have been so excited to share this pretty peach summer centerpiece I created a couple months ago for Better Homes and Gardens. Like most of my arrangements, it was nearly effortless to create and requires absolutely no floral skills.
In effort to keep costs minimal and add a little interest, I’ll often incorporate fruit or vegetables into my centerpieces. Peaches add both color and texture for far less than big blooms and is perfect for filling in “holes”.
This pretty peach centerpiece takes just 10 minutes, a household kitchen canister, snips from the garden, a dozen roses and bamboo skewers to make! It’s a beautiful addition to any summer soiree. In fact, it graced our kitchen table for over a week.
Let’s get started, shall we?
Fruit Centerpiece Supplies:
- vase / kitchen canister
- greenery from the garden or plant
- 1 dozen roses {garden roses preferred}
- bamboo skewers
- fruit / peaches
How to Make a Fruit Centerpiece:
- Fill vase with water. Trim roses to appropriate length and remove any greenery that will fall below the rim of the vase. Insert roses into the vase, saving a few for later.
- Insert bamboo skewer into the center of the peach. Use fruit / peaches to fill in holes. Cut or break the skewer at the bottom to the appropriate length.
- Cut a few pieces of greenery from your garden or a plant.
- Add greenery around the outside of the vase and a few snips to create a triangle around the center of the arrangement.
- Tweak and enjoy!

I love flower arranging and creating new things out of anything. Your peach arrangement inspired me to give it a go. I have some cherries in my fridge and a bouquet of pink roses. I wonder what that would look like in an arrangement. Hmm
Thank you! Cherries and roses sound like a lovely combination!
