Perfect White Nail Polish: Revlon Colorstay Gel Envy: “Sure thing”
I love white nails. Always have. The only reason why I don’t rock white mani too is the fact that I could not, for the life of me, find a decent, white nail polish that wouldn’t streak (even Essie’s “Blanc” was a bit difficult to work with). BUT, I finally found it, the perfect white nail polish: Revlon’s Colorstay Gel Envy polish in “Sure Thing”.
I picked up this polish a bit on a whim. I’ve tried lamp-free gel polishes before (years before I started blogging) but none of them impressed me much. Messy formulas, messy application, overall a disaster. I figured a couple years have passed, maybe someone somehow got the formula right. I was pleasantly surprised at how well this worked, especially for it being a white nail polish. If you ever tried to paint your nails with this particular color, then you probably know that white polishes tend to be very streaky, patchy and overall difficult to work with. It’s just so difficult to find a perfect white nail polish. Revlon’s “Sure Thing” was so smooth and creamy, I could have easily gotten away with applying only one coat. I went ahead and applied two anyway.
In addition to the color “Sure Thing,” I also picked Diamond Top Coat from the same collection. It’s supposed to ensure up to 11 days of chip-free wear. I first applied two coats of “Sure Thing”, followed by the Diamond Top Coat. I really loved the brush in both of these, it isn’t too wide or narrow, just a perfect size for a clean and mistake-free application. I barely had to do any touch-ups with a nail polish remover.
One thing to keep in mind is that it’s best to wait between coats and let them dry first. The finish was gorgeous with a pretty, gel-like shine. It was really easy to remove using acetone nail polish remover, which I found to be very surprising. I also noticed that the polish did not “bubble” at all. I had a bit of an obsession with shellac manicure two years ago and despite getting my nails done at the salon, I still experienced some “bubbling” on the surface, which was a bit disappointing. It was minimal but still bothered me.
This is a great alternative to shellac, it’s very long lasting and looks just like gel polish and also isn’t as damaging on my nails as shellac was. I’m definitely picking up more colors from this collection and there is a lot to pick from, Gel Envy comes in 30 different shades.
I just love the even application and great color payoff of this polish!
Anyone else a fan of white manicure? I’m officially-once again-obsessed and if you’re looking for a perfect white nail polish, this one is it!

April 25, 2015 at 4:57 amI just purchased this color last week along with Jokers Wild. I don’t know but I needed three coats (second try) of “Sure Thing” for it to be truly opaque. I might have bought a bad bottle. It dries fast though. And the shine is excellent. But I got sheet marks the next day despite doing my nails in the afternoon (only did two coats the first time). Used the Bourjois Instant Dry Nail Drops at that time so I’m not sure if that had anything to do wit the sheet marks.
