Nip + Fab Glycolic Instant Fix Mask Review
Remember how impressed I was by Nip + Fab’s Glycolic Fix Exfoliating Facial Pads? It was my first time using a NIP + FAB product, and I really wanted to get my hands on more of their skincare; this time I chose to go with a newest addition to the bestselling glycolic fix range: Glycolic Instant Fix Mask.
NIP + FAB Glycolic Instant Fix Mask ($12.99) comes in a 1.07 oz tube and it has a clear, gel consistency. A thin layer is supposed to be applied to clean, dry skin for 10 minutes. NIP + FAB promises this mask to be pore-tightening and smoothing, helping to diminish wrinkles and even out the skin tone. These are pretty much all the problems that glycolic acid, as an ingredient in skincare, is known to tackle.
After applying the mask, I was surprised to find that it didn’t sting or tingle my skin, as most products with glycolic acid usually do. During the ten minutes that the product stayed on my skin, it felt comfortable, not too tight or dry, there was no burning or anything of similar nature. After I washed the mask off with lukewarm water I could immediately feel my skin feeling incredibly smooth. To my horror, I noticed that my face broke out in these horrible, red blotches and I have to admit that I panicked for a while, but all that redness disappeared within one minute. Strangely enough, this only happened during my first use, the second time I used this mask, I didn’t experience any redness.
While applying my serum and moisturizer after using this mask I could feel an immediate difference in my skin’s texture. It felt very smooth to touch, the serum seemed to absorb a lot better, and as soon as the redness went away, I could see that my skin did, indeed, look a bit brighter. My pores aren’t exceptionally large, so I can’t really say whether this mask tightened them or not. It definitely brings instant results though, that I can only imagine will be greater with regular use. This is definitely a nice little pick-me up product that helps to instantly improve dull-looking skin. Apart from the initial redness/blotchiness I experienced upon washing the product off, I think that this mask is pretty awesome, I just wish that it came in a bigger tube (I have a feeling that I’ll be running out of this pretty quickly).

March 6, 2015 at 9:17 amDefinitely need a quick fix brightening mask that I can use before I go out anywhere – I have on currently but it requires a bit of faff since I have to add water, mix it, apply it, wait for a while before washing it off and then my skin is red for 30 minutes. I LOVE the mask but it just is so much work!

March 6, 2015 at 7:32 pmOhh that takes dedication! Although I would see myself doing something like this maybe once a week, or every two weeks, it’s like a fun little ritual hehe :) This mask is definitely more of an awesome, instant, quick-fix which comes in handy when you’re in a hurry ;)

March 8, 2015 at 6:16 pmSo wonderful that the results from this mask were so rapid. Aaah and so glad the red blotches went away my love, that always scares the hell outta me when a product does that. Like they wanna fright us for a few moments for the hell of it ;)
I’m always on the lookout for brightening skincare products, so this sounds like a real treasured find. Once I used Nip + Fab’s snake serum eye roller gel which sounds kinda scary but was always soothing and ever since then I’ve been keen to check out more of their ranges. Lovely, lovely review :D
