MD Complete Even Tone & Texture Accelerator

MD Complete Even Tone & Texture AcceleratorFor the past couple of months, I’ve been pretty limited when it comes to skincare: gentle cleanser, tretinoin treatment and a gentle moisturizer and/or face oil. My morning routine is quite similar, minus the tretinoin, adding a sunscreen.

I’m still waiting to see any results from the tretinoin cream; so far it’s flake and breakout galore, although I do have to say that they heal practically overnight (I really can’t wait for the purging stage to be finally over). I break out, I heal, and then I breakout some more, but I’m staying patient, waiting for that promised dewiness to kick in. In the mean time though, I still need to fight that flakiness/dullness. I recently introduced the MD Complete Even Tone & Texture Accelerator to my routine. I use this on those nights when I skip the tretinoin, and I also like to use it in the mornings.

Key ingredients in this treatment include retinol, niacinamide, vitamins B,C, and E, as well as blend of ceramides, black raspberry, cranberry and pomegranate fruit seed extracts that help strengthen the skin barrier. The texture is sort of a mix between a cream and a serum. It can feel a bit sticky at first, but it absorbs almost immediately leaving the complexion smooth and mattified (works great under makeup by the way!). Directions warned to use this product only every other day if you have sensitive skin, but I was very surprised at how gentle this was on my skin.

I love the way this serum/treatments makes my skin feel. It feels smooth, firm, and even though large pores are not a problem for me, I feel like this really smoothes them out and makes them barely visible. Ever since I started using this I also noticed that my breakouts heal even faster. My sister is also using this at the moment, and loves it as much as I do. The price may seem a bit high; $34.99 for 50ml, but because of the high concentration I only need one pump for one application. Ah, yes, the pump, let’s not forget the pump! I think that the packaging is genius, I wish that every single skincare product came in a packaging like this one. I really don’t like using products that come in a jar (well, most of the time I have no choice, since most of them come in that kind of packaging). Those ingredients that are most beneficial to your skin are also usually very unstable, and every single time you open that jar, those precious ingredients break down, since they’re exposed to air and light. This happens every single time you open the jar, and continues to happen with every single use. Like I said, I love the packing of this product.

Yes! I use his cleanser and I just bought this product yesterday and am excited to try it out today. I’m definitely buying more because he’s actually my dermatologist and very credible.

Is this good for younger skin? I’m just a little worried about the anti-aging properties… I don’t know if should use anti-aging products at this moment…

I’m 26 so my skin isn’t mature, I don’t have any wrinkles and I use this almost daily. It actually helps with acne and acne marks as well. Ingredients like niacinamide and Vitamins B and E are great for your skin, even if it’s “younger.” :) It’s always better to prevent, than treat :)
