Maybelline just came out with a spanking new mascara: Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara. Since mascara is probably one of my favorite makeup products, I really couldn’t wait to get my hands on this pretty, rose- pink, metallic tube.
This is what Maybelline says about Lash Sensational Mascara: “Introducing LASH SENSATIONAL – our unique, open-fan brush and fresh liquid formula capture and volumize lashes from root to top“.
The brush of this mascara is really interesting and it reminds me of L’Oreal’s Voluminous Butterfly Mascara. It has two curves: an inner curve with small bristles that are great for reaching the roots of the lashes, and a large, outer curve with long bristles that fan out the lashes at their tips.
I knew I liked this mascara from the very first application. It has a few things that I like the most in my mascaras: nice formula that isn’t too “wet” (no need to wipe and waste excess product), a great brush that is nice and stiff and does a great job at separating my lashes, and, last, but not least: a clump-free formula.
I actually like Maybelline Lash Sensational mascara a whole lot better than L’Oreal’s Voluminous Butterfly Mascara. It has a much better formula and I think that the brush is a bit nicer as well. Lash Sensational Mascara has a formula that dries very quickly, which is definitely a good thing in my book (but if you like layering your mascara, you gotta work fast with this one). I absolutely love the fact that the results are clump-free. I always prefer more of a natural look when it comes to mascara (if I need more drama, I reach for false eyelashes) I just can’t stand that feeling when my lashes are so stiff that it feels almost as if I could brake them in half if I touched them. With only one coat I got that “I’m wearing mascara, but it looks like I just have gorgeous lashes” look. Two coats is a bit dramatic, but I was impressed that even then, the formula didn’t seem to clump. Here are my before/after photos:
None, one and two coats of Lash Sensational Mascara.
What do you guys think, will you be giving this mascara a try?

November 13, 2014 at 4:07 pmIt looks great! I love the packaging, first of all! The brush reminds me a bit of the Falsies, too, don’t you think? I don’t like it when the formula is too wet, so glad this isn’t! Love that we get to find out whats going to come out a couple of months early, we’re always behind in the UK! Thanks, Paula! <3

November 18, 2014 at 8:11 amHiya,
The volume that it puts on the lashes is A-M-A-Z-I-N-G! Also the brush looks better and looks like it will separate my lashes rather than keeping it clunky. I haven’t seen it on the shelves yet here in the UK. But I shall be on the hunt for it! Thanks for the review it really helped.
I have recently started a blog could you kindly give it a read.
Thanks, Mahi xo

November 21, 2014 at 10:16 pmHell yeah, how pretty is that tube?! An absolute beaut! I love the shimmer to the packaging, it’s just so instantly attractive ;) Such beautiful captures too Paula, the effect of the mascara is so damn effective on you; it looks like you’re wearing the most impactful yet natural falsies ever invented. This mascara just sounds like the most wondrous winter buy. Love, love, love! <3

July 21, 2016 at 9:23 amI’ve been checking out reviews for some more affordable mascaras. Have never tried this one but your honest article is really convincing me to try it! Love how it looks on your lashes. Also, thank you for a picture of the wand because they’re always so used and messy in the store testers! Much love!
