Loving this Spring…

blog lifestylowy

blog lifestylowy

Does it count as Spring, if I’m still wearing sweaters?

I was going to work this morning, wearing a long-sleeve shirt, a blazer AND a jacket. I saw one of my neighbors leaving the house wearing a short skirt and a tank top. In a 45 degree weather. Please tell me I’m not the only one who is constantly cold? Like, sleep-in-your-socks-during-summer cold??

I have to say though, I’m really, REALLY enjoying this Spring weather this year. Even though it rained pretty much non-stop for the last two weeks, this week the weather is absolutely beautiful. I’m SO happy that we didn’t jump right into Summer, like we usually do. I actually get to wear light layers, yay!

Last week, Nida tagged me to do a Spring/Summer Favorites tag, so today I’ll be sharing a few things I’ve been loving this Spring.

FAVORITE PERFUME[line]

CHANEL CHANCE EAU TENDRE and CHANEL COCO MADEMOISELLE.

FAVORITE LIP COLOR[line]

This honestly changes like, every two days for me, but one that I reach for most often is Channel’s L’Amoreuse. It’s a pretty, pink-berry color with an amazing, velvet-like formula. You can see my swatch here.

FAVORITE DRINK[line]

Water is pretty much always my choice of drink, as I try to stay away from any juices and thangs. BUT, I’ve also been kind of crazy about cold brew Matcha. At this time of year, I also love infusing my water with herbs and fruit- it’s so refreshing!

FAVORITE BLUSH[line]

Right now I’m crazy about MAC’s Cosmic Force (but you probably know this already, if you’re a regular here :D ) it’s a stunning, subtle shade that works so nicely with my fair skin tone (see my swatch here).

FAVORITE CLOTHING ITEM[line]

Soooo as mentioned at the beginning of this post, I am loving light layers at the moment, and I’m still loving my Kimchi Blue Kimono that I previously wrote about here. Unfortunately, it’s no longer in stock :| . I love that it adds color and it looks so pretty when paired with shorts or jeans on a cool Spring day. I’m also loving my tan Panama Hat. If someone told me a year ago that I’ll have not one but five hats in my wardrobe, I’d say they’re crazy. I don’t really like accessorizing much when it comes to style, but I’m kind of obsessed with hats right now.

FAVORITE MOVIE[line]

I don’t think I really have a favorite movie that I like to watch this time of year, but I recently saw Secret Garden again an ahhh, love that movie!

FAVORITE TV SHOW[line]

To be honest, the only TV Show I actually watch on cable is The Walking Dead, and since next season won’t air until October, I stick to Netflix. Right now I love How To Get Away With Murder (it’s playing on my TV as I type this, ha! ). Nida also mentioned GOT and I feel like I really need to get into it!

FAVORITE FOOD[line]

Anything that’s green and fresh. During Winter I love warm meals like baked sweet potatoes, hearty soups, warm rice bowls, but during Spring I’m all about salads, smoothies and avocado and brown rice sushi. And, of course, fresh fruit- like chilled cantaloupe, YUM!!

What are some things that you’re loving this Spring? I tag everyone to do this tag- if you do decide to do it, make sure to send me your links!

That is also one of my favorite blushes – so pretty and natural! It’s been SO hot here in Austria, definitely too hot for May!

The weekend was so lovely and now we are back in the English rain mode. So I went from no jacket to almost a winter coat in three days. Crazy.

Yup it still doesn’t feel like summer yet for me either. We’ve had a few nice days but I’m yet to bring out the shorts & vests. I got addicted to How To Get Away With Murder and watched all episodes in the space of a few weeks haha! x

I love your blush and your lipstick pick! That particular MAC blush looks a bit too light for someone medium-tone, though, so I’ll admire it on other people for the mean time. :)

Yes, it’s definitely not for deeper skin tones, works lovely with my fair skin tone though! ;)

I’m right there with you, I’m constantly cold! As I type this I’m actually wrapped up in a blanket with a hot water bottle…

I’ve been marathoning The Walking Dead lately, I’m so behind (s3) but I’m loving it so far.

Help…I need a blush that lasts at least 8 hours. I use a light dusting of mineral powder first so I don’t think it’s soaking into my skin. I’ve tried Urban Decay and Tarte…both touted lasting 16 hours. Didn’t happen. Recommendations?

Hey Jane, have you tried Illamasqua blushes? They’re very pigmented and long-lasting. I was actually going to suggest Tarte, because their blushes are very long-lasting on my skin (nowhere near 16 hours though- I actually never wear makeup for that long, but they do start fading after about 4-5 hours on my skin). Since that didn’t work for you, I’dI say try Illamasqua. Do you use a makeup-setting spray? That actually helps a lot when it comes to my bronzer/blushes lasting all day since they tend to fade a bit after a few hours. I love the All-Nighter spray from Urban Decay- it’s probably the only setting spray that actually helps my makeup stay on longer. Hope this helps! x

Thanks, Paula…I’ll give the Illamasqua for sure. And I received a setting mask sample in Birchbox that I’ll try. Thanks!
