We’ve just welcomed October, which means that it’s time for September’s Lovin’ Lately.
I just told you all about these Bye Bye Under Eye Illumination* concealers a few days ago, right here, so I won’t spend too much time talking about them.
Two base products I’ve been loving: Clinique Superbalanced Silk Makeup*, which is a new product and Guerlain Meteorites Baby Glow Foundation, which is an old favorite. I’m so in love with the Superbalanced Silk Makeup– it’s a great foundation for those with combo skin. It has a natural-matte finish, light to medium coverage (that’s totally buildable). Best of all it matches my skin tone quite nicely (03 Silk Bare) and leaves my skin feeling and looking healthy. There’s no heavy or uncomfortable feeling that some foundations give off and when used with my favorite powder, it doesn’t get super oily on me.
Meteorites Baby Glow Foundation is perfect to use on those days when I’m in a hurry or don’t want to wear too much makeup. This is the kind of foundation I’d always stay away from, when I had bad acne. It has light coverage and gives a very nice, healthy-glow finish. It blends quickly and works well with a brush, beauty blender or hands/fingers. The only thing that I don’t like- it’s loaded with fragrance which I think is a shame. I don’t see a reason why any skincare or makeup product should have fragrance in it. In my experience fragrance doesn’t do anything, other than act as an irritant.
I already mentioned these Trufora* products on my Instagram and really loved them enough to mention them in this post as well. Three I loved the most are the Intensive Night Treatment, Triple Action Exfoliator and a Day Serum 85. I love pretty much everything about these products. They’re fragrance-free, don’t irritate my skin and the packaging is fantastic. The Intensive Night Treatment worked really well with my skin that’s still dry from the acne meds. The day serum is very lightweight and is amazing under sunscreen/makeup and leaves the skin feeling very soft. One of the reasons why I loved the Triple Action Exfoliator so much, is because it’s a combo of a physical and chemical exfoliators. AHAs and BHAs are combined with physical exfoliation from bamboo. You’re supposed to apply this exfoliator all over your skin and leave it on as a mask for 5 minutes- that’s when Kaolin clay works by cleansing the skin- and then massage the face using gentle, circular motions and rinse thoroughly. This leaves the skin feeling SO smooth and soft and the serums, creams and oils apply like a dream after the treatment. The only downside to these products is that they’re pricey, considering the sizes (.5 fl oz serum sells for $60.00) and definitely don’t fit everyones budget. Trufora does offer a 30-day money back guarantee, which is definitely awesome and you do get quality products that are fragrance free, non-comedogenic, non-irritating. non-sensitizing, cruelty-free and vegan certified.
MAC Mocha, Modesty and Marc Jacobs Twinkle Pop Stick Eye Shadow in Honey Bunny
MAC Modesty and Mocha are two lippies I’ve been using quite a lot lately. I also picked up Marc Jacobs Twinkle Pop Stick Eye Shadow in Honey Bunny and it’s one of the most beautiful inner corner highlighters, I’ve ever used. This glides on skin, just like water. It also dries very quickly and stays on forever. I haven’t tried using it on top of or under powder shadows (or in my water line), but I love it as the inner corner highlight. I went a little heavy on the swatch here, but when used with light hand, it can actually look very subtle and add a beautiful glow.
I’ve been hearing so many amazing things about this Oribe Dry Texturizing Spray and since I’ve been on lookout for a new one, I really wanted to try it for myself. Before spending over 40 bucks on a big can, I tried the purse-size first and… OMG this stuff is magic! My hair is super straight, doesn’t hold a curl very well and this texturizing spray gives me instant texture and volume that actually lasts. Looks like I’ll definitely be getting the full-sized version of this!
Few months ago, I was sent this K-Pak Luster Lock Treatment from Joico.* I’ve already heard great things about K-Pak from a friend who works at a hair salon. I use this about once a week and it leaves my hair feeling silky smooth and strong at the same time. Right after the first use, I could tell that this stuff is amazing. It also protects against any styling abuse and makes it 9X more resistant to breakage. I’ll be honest and say that my hair is very healthy as it is, but this treatment sort of gives my hair a little something *extra* so I can only image how well it’d work for someone with damaged hair. Love this stuff!
What are you guys loving at the moment?

October 4, 2016 at 10:05 pmOoooh I need to try that Oribe spray! I have the same straight hair that doesn’t have much volume so this sounds like something I need in my life! And those lippies are so pretty. I love the fall colors. I’ve been playing around with dark berry colors and I’m loving it!

October 6, 2016 at 6:51 amThat eye shadow stick is FREAKING GORGEOUS. I actually thought that all three of those were eyeshadow swatches, which also would have been amazing. I’m really into warm burgundy eye shades for fall, even though I haven’t tried to pull them off myself!

October 10, 2016 at 1:10 pmI really want to try a Clinique foundation again. It’s been YEARS but I never remember having a bad experience with any of them. Superbalanced sounds great for us more combo girls. I also have to try a mascara after hearing what my friend had to say in my recent Clinique post. There’s a Clinique event this weekend that a blogger friend is cohosting, so I may have to take some home :)

October 12, 2016 at 7:02 pmI recently bought my first ever Mac lipstick (from the Selena collection) and it was so weird wearing a normal lipstick. I guess I got used to liquid or matte products, but I did like it. Or maybe it was all the time and energy I spent trying to get that damn lipstick that made me love it.
I have that new It Cosmetics concealer and its sooo good!
