I am lucky to have very healthy hair and other than styling/texturizing products, I am not too picky when it comes to hair care. Since even the basic shampoo and conditioner combos work fine for me, it does take something really good to impress me in that department. One of the nice “side effects” I noticed since getting off Accutane, is that I don’t have to wash my hair every single day. I can actually get away with washing it once a week (!!!), which is kind of crazy since just a couple of years ago, me going a week without washing my hair would make professor Snape’s hair look like it belonged to a supermodel.
For the last couple of weeks, I’ve been using a few products from Saints and Sinners*. I’ll be honest, I’ve never heard of the brand before, but oh my did I fall in love with their stuff. You know how your hair always feels incredibly soft and smooth when a stylist washes it at a salon? The Velvet conditioner + shampoo combo* makes my hair feel just as soft and smooth. It doesn’t weight the hair down at all, but it makes it feel silky soft and smooth, and unusually easy to style.
Speaking of hair, I’m probably super late to the game, but I also started using Batiste dry shampoo a few months ago and it’s THE best dry shampoo I’ve tried. I love it even more than my all-time favorite, Not Your Mother’s Dry Shampoo. I went through a few of these already and currently loving the Cherry scented one. This stuff definitely helps me go an entire week without having to wash my hair and helps keep it fresh.
I’ve been a fan of The Ordinary products for a while now, and have two new favorite additions: AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution and Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1%. I was surprised that the peeling solution was actually quite gentle on my skin since I’m still on Tazorac which leaves it a little sensitive. The first time I used it, I left it on for about 7 minutes and the next day my skin was G-L-O-W-I-N-G. It’s been a while since I’ve used a peel like this one on my skin, and after first two uses, I did notice some skin peeling a few days after. By the third use, my skin seemed to have stopped peeling. If this is something you’d like to try, I’d definitely recommend patch testing first though. The Niacinamide serum is great for anyone with acne-prone skin- I also noticed that it helps brighten the complexion, too. I actually had a first tiny breakout since finishing my acne treatment nearly a year ago, and I immediately reached for this serum- it’s definitely a keeper. The only problem is, I’m running out of room to store my skincare bits!
These gorgeous Emile Cordon* lip pots already made an appearance in last month’s Makeup Bag post. Not only do they look beautiful but the formula is very nourishing, hydrating, a little bit goes a very long way and you can also use these on your cuticles and skin.
I have a thing for face mists and BYBI Beauty Mega Mist Hyaluronic Acid Toner* is a new favorite. Love using it after cleansing- it’s gentle, plumps and hydrates the skin. It’s such a nice product to reach for in the mornings.
Still loving Erno Laszlo’s Marble Peel-Off Mask. It is one of the best peel-off masks I’ve ever tried and I always reach for it before any special occasion or when my skin is looking a little dull and is in need of a little pick-me-up.
I also wanted to quickly mention these Static Nails*– they’re pop-on, reusable fake nails. I didn’t know what to expect from trying these because I love my natural nails, but quite honestly I’m impressed. First off, they actually look natural on my hands mostly because my nails are pretty healthy and long. Second, the designs are beautiful and you can definitely find something you like. Third, they do come off easily once you soak them in warm water and do no damage to your natural nails. In these photos, I’ve been wearing these for about 3 days. These are great to use when you don’t have time to indulge in a manicure.
What are you guys loving at the moment?

April 18, 2018 at 11:25 pmO no that sounds awful!! I had a similar experience with another tinted dry shampoo for brunettes… it rained and the powder ran down my face leaving me looking like I had mud all over my head- not a cute look!
