GlamGlow Brightmud Eye Treatment

GlamGlow Brightmud Eye Treatment

Some time a go I told you guys how excited I was about finding GlamGlow Brightmud Eye Treatment at my local TJ Maxx. Now that I’ve used it a few times, I’m really glad that I haven’t paid the full price for it.

This is what GlamGlow says about this eye treatment:

“Non-Dry TapwipeTM Bioactive Mud consists of powerful actives that help minimize puffiness, dark circles, and fine lines while brightening and hydrating the eyes. Natural high bioactivity materials and bentonites absorb toxins delivering high nutrients and minerals essential for ultrabright, amazing eyes. Simply tap-on to deliver the range of advanced active ingredients into the skin then wipe-off, leaving a micro layer of actives for extended results.”

Ingredients: Water, Glycerin, Glyceryl Acrylate, Acrylic Acid Copolymer, Propylene Glycol, Dimethicone, Siloxanetriol Alginate, Caffeine, Butylene Glycol, Carbomer, Biosaccharide Gum-1, Benonite, Phenoxyethanol, Ethylhexyglycerin, Alcohol, Lecithin, Ectoin, Cyclopeptide-5, Sodium Hydroxide, Iiex Paraguariensis Leaf Powder, Xanthan Gum, Sorbitol, Dihydroxymethylchromone, Ectoin, Troxerutin, Camellia Sinensis Leaf Powder, Theobroma Cacao, Fruit Powder, Paullina Cupana Seed Powder, Coffea Arabica Leaf, llex Guayusa Leaf Extract, Coffee Bean Powder, Sigesbeckia Orientalis Extract.

The use of this product is pretty simple, you pop one of the dual ChromeCells open, apply the treatment around your eyes, leave it on for three minutes and wash off immediately after that, without allowing it to dry. I washed off the treatment with water, because it seemed ridiculous to follow the instructions that guide to remove it by wiping it off using a dry tissue. The skin around the eyes is extremely delicate, and the idea of rubbing it with a tissue to get the product off just does not sound right.

GlamGlow Brightmud Eye Treatment review

This is supposed to reveal bright, younger-looking eyes. I was left with quite the opposite: dry, red and irritated skin. At first, the skin under my eyes felt very tight, but as soon as I washed the mask off, it felt much better. After not seeing any results, I thought that maybe it takes more than just one use so I gave it another go after a few days. Same thing happened, my skin felt like it was on fire when I left the treatment on. I looked up this product on Paula’s Choice Beautypedia, and surprise, surprise, I come to find out that it contains film-formers and emolients which can work great, but are very likely to irritate the skin if used in such high concentrations.

GlamGlow Brightmud

I usually don’t mention products that haven’t worked for me, but with all the hype surrounding GlamGlow products, I felt obligated to write this review. Just to make things clear, I like GlamGlow’s face masks, I used them without any issues, but this eye treatment did absolutely nothing for me. I think it’s a shame, especially for the claims that this product makes (help with dark circles, brightening, wrinkles, plumping, hydrating, tired eyes, lines and puffiness… reallly?). I never expect a product to fulfill its claims, they always seems a bit exaggerated, but these claims just sound unrealistic. Seriously, save your money.

I’ve never seen a treatment like this before, and I’ll certainly think twice before trying one in the future thanks to this review. I think it’s really good to share if something has had an adverse effect on you, because on someone else it could be a stronger reaction with a more serious outcome, and it’s good to be warned about this kind of thing! x

It might work for others, but from different reviews that I came across, I saw that a lot of people had a similar reaction to mine! xx

You definitely don’t see enough truthful reviews on the web! I’ve heard so many good things about GlamGlow but I have really sensitive skin so I’ll definitely stay away from this one.

Thanks so much Caitlin! I’m not at all saying that all of their products aren’t worth the price or effective. I used other products by GlamGlow and loved them, I think that’s why I was so disappointed by this eye treatment. x

I’ve heard so many positive things about Glam Glow, but I’m really glad to see an honest review to know that maybe it’s not all that! I have sensitive skin and it’s alarming to read the reaction you had to it. I’m hoping it’s a one off but just in case, I think I’ll save myself the major cash and try something with much more favourable reviews.

Their face masks are nice, I really like them! This is the only product by GlamGlow that just didn’t work for me.. definitely not a good option for sensitive skin!

Definitely agree it’s a shame love, especially as the packaging looks so promising! A really stunning, shimmery design that’s gorgeous and eye-catching, so no wonder you were excited about trying it out. <3

Can't believe the instructions indicated the use of dry tissue! Now I'm no damn beauty expert but I read once in an article that you can actually cause wrinkles by rubbing eye cream in the wrong way, so I can imagine dry tissue is not a godsend for the eye area haha. Glad you didn't pay the full price love, and I love how your reviews are always honest and upfront, so refreshing and rare to see and I love you all the more for it :)

Oh yes, the packaging is so pretty, made me that much more excited to give this a try :( .

I know right? That just threw me off a little, rubbing skin around your eyes is never a good idea. I’m glad I didn’t pay the full price too! Although if I did, I’d probably be able to return it, Sephora has a great return policy ;) (thankfully)

When I saw you were reviewing eye cream, I was excited as I suffer really bad dark circles and have never found anything to work. Sometimes I look like I have been punched in the face! If you find anything that works, even just a little bit, please let me know. I want to look like a human in the mornings :)

Aww I’m sure it’s not that bad Gems! You always look so lovely! Few months a go I reviewed Origins’ Ginzing Eye Cream, it has great brightening properties! x
