Bobbi Brown Extra Eye Repair Cream
You guys might recall that I have the worst luck when it comes to eye creams. I’ve tried everything from CeraVe, LaRoche-Posay to Estee Lauder with no luck of finding something that really worked for me.
You might remember that earlier this year I’ve reviewed Bobbi Brown’s Hydrating Eye Cream, which I liked quite a bit. Few weeks after that review I received a sample of Bobbi Brown’s Extra Eye Repair Cream, and I loved it even more than the hydrating version. If you suffer from really dry skin and are looking for something ultra-hydrating and soothing, I have feeling you’d love this eye cream as much as I did.
Bobbi Brown Extra Eye Repair Cream and the sample size.
Why I love it:
-it’s soothing and moisturizing
-it’s very rich, creamy and luxurious
-it doesn’t irritate my skin like most eye creams I’ve tried in the past
-it helps with puffiness and dryness, even fine lines
-a little bit goes a very long way
-makes the area under my eyes feel soft and smooth
-I notice an immediate difference after I applying this cream; just like I can tell a difference in the look and feel in my under eye skin when I stop using it. Because my skin is so dry at the moment, this is also showing on my eyes, especially in the inner corners. That’s where my skin feels very thin and dry. Extra Repair Eye Cream brings instant relief and makes my skin feel very moisturized and I swear that those few tiny lines in my inner corners keep getting smaller and smaller each day.
What I don’t like:
-This is probably one of the best eye creams I’ve tried, ever, so there aren’t a lot of things that bother me about it, except for one: the packing and the price. Extra Repair Eye Cream comes in a pretty big jar 0.5 oz for $72.00. My problem is that because this cream is extremely potent which means that this jar will probably last me close to a year. That’s me opening the jar every single day, for a year and exposing the product to air which compromises the stability of the antioxidants and other ingredients in the formula. By the time I’m done with this cream, I’m not quite sure how effective it’ll be. I’d rather see this come in a smaller jar, or better yet maybe a tube or a pump, but with a small price tag. Jar packaging in skincare is pretty much pointless, since some of the most potent and beneficial ingredients are also the ones that are least stable and change each time they are exposed to air and light (which happens every single time you open the jar).
Want to give this a try? Consider this:
-not everyone will like this cream. The skin under my eyes is very dry so I love the fact that this is creamy and very rich, but if you don’t have dry skin, you’ll probably find this to be too greasy.
-because of how rich it is, it’s not a good idea to use this in the morning, especially if you wear makeup- your concealer will slide all over the place. I only use this cream at night. This one is my favorite daytime eye cream.
-if you can, get your hands on a sample. I went through two samples before I bought this cream and the only reason why I did buy it, was because of how great the samples have worked for me. One small sample also lasted me a whole month, and that’s with every day use, so it’s definitely worth getting one before purchasing the cream (especially considering the price).
As you can see, it looks like I might have finally found the one, I just wish it came in a different packaging. If thick and rich formula is not your thing, you might like Bobbi Brown’s Hydrating Eye Cream.

September 8, 2015 at 5:24 pmThat’s great that you found an eye cream you like. Seems very good to me. If you still are deciding to try more eye creams then try this one “Nourish Organic Renewing Eye Cream with Avocado + Argan for Normal to Dry Skin:” I have heard a lot of praises regarding it. Hope it helps:)

September 11, 2015 at 7:33 amI agree with you it’s a bit of a shame when such a good product comes within a not so good packaging. Sometimes, if I really love the product (like Clarins HydraQuench moisturiser) I will still keep purchasing it but as you use more products for you entire face than your eyes, I still feel it’s working at the end of the jar. Nice review! Xx
