Are you on Pinterest?

photography tips for bloggers

b7f993ec808ddb3ac305e54ec37acf6cI’ve had a Pinterest account for quite a while now, but it’s not until recently that I became obsessed with it. If you’re not on Pinterest yet (especially if you’re a blogger) you need to get an account ASAP.

f2a7d04f4b6b3c58ca1341bc9451d7a4Found this through Pinterest, this girl sells it these gorgeous Mason Jars in her Etsy shop (don’t these remind you of “The Glass Kitchen”?).

As much as I love blogging, it can get a bit frustrating sometimes. There is so much more to this than a lot of people realize. There are days when I feel stuck and lack inspiration and ideas. Sometimes I can spend up to 3 hours trying to photograph my products or recipes until I finally give up (trust me, it can be a bit difficult, especially during this time of the year when it’s dark and gloomy most of the time). That’s when Pinterest really comes in handy.

I see Pinterest as an endless source of knowledge, inspiration and ideas. If you’re a blogger like me, you can also use it as a tool to bring traffic to your blog. Whenever I publish a blog post, I always make sure to pin a featured image to Pinterest. Few months a go I also installed a Pinterest image hoover button on my blog (for those using wordpress, the plugin that I recommend is jQuery Pin It Button For Images-I found this to work best). Ever since I did this, I noticed that my traffic grew and I get a bunch of Pinterest referrals to my blog on daily basis. I would definitely recommend looking into group boards as well. There are lots of “blogger” boards where a group of bloggers pin images linking back to their blogs. Usually, all you have to do is email the blogger who created the board, and they’ll send you a board invite via email. As always, it’s very, very important not to spam. No one likes it, I personally don’t approve comments on my blog that seem spam-y. Always make sure that the images you pin are of good quality and that the links are directed properly. There are also endless blogging tips and tricks, photography tutorials and a lot more.

photography tips for bloggersAnother reason why I love Pinterest so much, is all the style and beauty inspiration I find there. Tons of makeup tutorials, DIY skincare ideas, OOTD pictures, hair tutorials, gift guides, etc.

We’re planning on renovating our master bedroom next Spring and my head is already bursting with ideas, lots of them were influenced by the images I found through Pinterest.

Whether you’re a blogger or not, you can find Pinterest very, very useful. From weekday dinner recipes, fun lifahacks to style and beauty inspiration, Pinterest has something to offer to everyone. Do you guys have a favorite Pinterst account? I’m always looking for new and fun accounts to follow. You can find me on Pintererst right here.

I love Pinterest too! I could probably spend all day on there. I love it for making wishlists especially as it actually helps to curb my spending! Mine is http://www.pinterest.com/lovelywitches/ :)

I really like pinterest too! Initially people thought it was really similar to Tumblr, or many people simply didn’t understand the value in it at first glance. It’s really great for finding things, and I just love how it’s a basically a great way of visually organizing bookmarks.

Unfortunately, the only downside I find is that it can be hard to be discovered. What I mean, is that when you post an image with the appropriate description and hashtag, it can be difficult to find even moments later when you type it in the search bar. The only results that come up are those that are already very popular with many repins, or I simply haven’t figured out how to have people discover and repin posts.

It’s definitely a great place for inspiration! Have you ever tried joining a blogging group board? I noticed that the more active I am on Pinterest, the more re-pins I get. It’s also important to not only pin images from your blog but also to be an active “pinner” in general. Pin a little every day, and you’ll notice more re-pins. ;)

I am with you on this one! I love Pinterest and have spent a good portion of my days on there! There is so much that you can discover on there! It is definitely one of my favourite social media channels! I use WordPress too and have the ‘Pin it’ button but I will check which one I use as I’m not sure if it is jQuery! Thanks for the tips! Best wishes!

I have been more addicted to Pinterest recently as well! I don’t even read magazines anymore as I get a lot of inspiration on Pinterest plus it’s just so much more convenient…I love the photos you picked of the bedrooms, that must be an exciting project! :)

I don’t usually take notice to who I re-pin from, but I also love Pinterest! It opens me up to so many topics that I didn’t even know how important they are. I get inspired daily for blog posts, from quotes etc. I just love it. (my username is @ZoesSecretStyle) xx
